Data Center Fiber Technician at SRI Tech Solutions

Position: Data Center Fiber Technician Location: Columbus , OH 43219 Job Summary: The technician will support data center operations with a focus on fiber installation, troubleshooting, and hardware setup. The role requires hands-on experience with fiber connectors, rack installations, and network device management. Key Responsibilities: Install and mount racks, patch panels, fiber optics, and associated hardware. Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cables. Perform installation and troubleshooting of fiber connections. Terminate simplex/duplex jumper cords and install LC, SC, ST, FC, FDDI, SMA, and MPO/MTP connectors (single-mode & multi-mode). Manage and close tickets; maintain inventory of network devices. Work at heights, on ladders, and in confined spaces; distinguish colors and read small print. Preferred Qualifications: Flexible to work rotational shifts. 2+ years of experience in a U.S. data center environment (server, storage, network devices). Strong technical knowledge of hardware, networking, and troubleshooting. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
