What success looks like in this role: The Data Center Technician's responsibilities include maintaining the data center's IT system, troubleshooting issues, performing server installations, and ensuring uninterrupted access to network services.The ideal candidate for this role should possess a strong understanding of network infrastructure and data center operations.Familiarity with server installations and network updates is also required.Installing and configuring data center infrastructure including servers, racks, switches and other hardwareRegularly monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issuesPerforming regular maintenance and updates to systems, software, and hardwareEnsuring the data center's HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems are operating efficientlyCarrying out routine network maintenance tasks, such as managing user accounts, permissions, email, anti-virus, anti-spamEnsuring the data center's power supply is consistent and reliableEnsuring data backups are completed and stored correctlyAssisting with disaster recovery operations in the event of power failures, fires, or other disastersDocumenting procedures, systems and network configurationComplying with and maintaining security standards within the data centerCommunicating regularly with other IT staff and management to report on status of the data center.Triage issues with direction from Dell SupportDocument POA Results, logs and service reports (Parts numbers/PPID of old/new parts replaced) to client via case emailReseating parts, swap or replace partsServer Testing and validation (running diagnostics, capturing and uploading logs)Upgrading Firmware as neededParts locker management, manage inbound and outbound partsSpare parts management, separate from parts locker (during CW server deployments.You will be successful in this role if you have:High School Diploma or GED requiredMay require technical certification or Associate DegreeGenerally, 2-4+ years' experience in area of responsibility#LI-JV1This role may require access to export-controlled commodities and technology.
