The selected candidate must live within commuting distance of Washington D.C.RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop using technologies such as Power BI Python ETL scripts and workflows and SQL queries (including functions and stored procedures) to extract information from data sets for further processing or for display in numerous formatsWork with stakeholders DBAs data specialists system and security personnel and nomenclature analysts to structure and prepare content for use in database modelsTroubleshoot complex technical issues and work closely with Federal technical managers to assist them in their project objectivesCollaborate with stakeholders project managers and technical staff to identify business requirements create user stories with acceptance criteria design and estimate timelines and costs and facilitate reportsTake initiative in recommending application enhancements and improvementsDevelop new and utilize existing standardized templates to accurately and concisely write requirements specificationsExperience developing and identifying existing and valuable metrics conducting analysis and identifying gaps in dataExperience working with relational databases and tools to collect and report financial dataExpertise in Microsoft Excel and pivot tablesAbility to adapt to rapidly changing deadlines and tasksStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to decompose requirements into technical development instructionsAbility to work with limited direction to lead define develop and distribute high-quality work products in a timely fashionAbility to act as a liaison between testers developers clients and other stakeholders during all phases of developmentAttention to detail clear communication writing and presentation skillsAbility to present and discuss quantitative data to an executive audienceREQUIRED SKILLS:A minimum of 7 years of experience in software engineering with at least 3 years focused on data managementAbility to work in an agile or iterative development environment and the self-motivation to work independentlyExperience working with Python particularly modules centered around data movement (pandas sqlalchemy pyodbc etc.)PREFERRED SKILLS:Certification in Cloud-based platforms (AWS and Azure preferred)Practice working with regulatory legal or government data setsEDUCATION:Bachelors degree required preferably in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field; 4 years of relevant experience may be substituted for the degree requirementTCG does not discriminate based on race sex color religion national origin age disability caste or veteran status.Our B Corp mission is reflected in our benefits including offerings like health care 401K parental leave adoption assistance financial planning services student loan repayment assistance and training budget.
