Federally designated as a senior military college, one of the university's signature leadership programs is its 800-member Corps of Cadets on UNG's Dahlonega Campus.Job Summary The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Data Science Intern - Institutional Student Worker.This position will:Learn how to apply statistical and machine learning techniques to real institutional challenges.Strengthen ability to design a full analytics workflow, from question to model to insight.Gain experience communicating findings to nontechnical audiences.Learn to manage a project with defined milestones and outcomes.Understand ethical considerations and responsible use of predictive analytics.Responsibilities Conduct applied data science projects (e.g., enrollment forecasting, capacity planning, student success modeling).Collaborate with a faculty mentor to define project scope, methodology, and deliverables.Build models and perform analysis in Python or R.Prepare clear reports, visualizations, and briefings for university stakeholders.Document methods, code, assumptions, and results for reproducibility. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Coursework in data science, modeling, or machine learning.Proficiency in Python or R for analysis and visualization.Ability to clean, prepare, and analyze structured datasets.Strong analytical thinking, documentation habits, and teamwork.Required Qualifications Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in the minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.Required Documents to Attach ResumeCover letterUSG Core Values The University System of Georgia is comprised of our 26 institutions of higher education and learning as well as the System Office.
