Position SummaryWe seek a dynamic and experienced Data Scientist to play an integral role in developing and enhancing LGCs data science product portfolio. As a pivotal member of our innovative R&D team you will collaborate closely with multiple divisions within LGC leveraging your data science expertise to deliver impactful insights and advanced solutions. The ideal candidate must possess experience across various data mining techniques analytical methodologies and modern data modeling tools. Skilled in designing building and deploying sophisticated models on-premises and in the cloud creating novel algorithms programming optimizing processes and conducting comprehensive simulations. You should be enthusiastic about extracting meaningful patterns from large-scale datasets creating predictive and analytical models and proactively managing data infrastructure to ensure accuracy accessibility and efficiency.If youre passionate about uncovering insights from data and contributing significantly to data-driven innovation we encourage you to join our team.Job ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job effectively an individual must be able to perform the following essential functions satisfactorily:Work with multiple partners throughout the organization to identify valuable data sources and automate collection processesUndertake pre-processing curating and model building of the structured and unstructured dataAnalyze large datasets to discover trends and patternsHelp identify and define new product ideas based on the outcomes from the predictive models and machine-learning algorithmsPresent analytical results using data visualization techniquesPropose data science solutions and strategies for R&D and business challengesTaking ideas from theory into deploymentAttend meetings conferences symposia and seminars to promote LGC capabilities and to stay on top of scientific/technological developmentsMeticulously learn diligently follow and deliver high-quality product development documentation consistent with LGCs quality systemsFollow company requirements of the ISO 13485 quality management systemQualificationsQualifications : Minimum Qualifications:Ph.D or M.S or equivalent experience with at least 3-5 years of industry/academic experience in data science mathematics computer science physics biostatistics computational biology operations research or a related fieldAbility to break down and understand complex business/scientific challenges define solutions and implement them using advanced quantitative methodsProficiency in high-level scripting languages (Python Java)Experience in low-level programming languages (C/C)Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (R matplotlib or similar)Experience with LINUX-based operating systems and shell scriptingExpertise in supervised and unsupervised learning methodsKnowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques: Clustering GLM/Regression Random Forest Boosting Trees text mining network analysis etc.Ability to analyze algorithmsKnowledge of software development principles and architectureBasic computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products particularly Word Excel PowerPoint and VisioPreferred Qualifications: Understanding of deep learning and LLM algorithmsKnowledge of probability Bayesian statistics and neural networksExperience in Cloud technologies such as AWS Azure or GCPKnowledge of any relational database such as My SQLProficiencies & BehaviorsClear strategic thinker with proven critical relationship development skillsAptitude for complex problem-solving and continuous improvement with the willingness to work in a rapidly growing matrix organizationAbility to work well in a team environment possess an ability to adapt to change in the environment and have a proven track record of exerting influence in a directive and positive mannerDemonstrated autonomy: the ability to self-start and drive whilst recognizing the appropriate time for collaborator engagementCommitted to achieving goals ensuring targets are met within specified timelines and budgets The typical pay range for this role is:Minimum: $90000/AnnuallyMaximum: $150000/Annually Bonus eligibleAdditional Information : ABOUT LGC:LGC is a leading global life science tools company providing mission-critical components and solutions into high-growth application areas across the human healthcare and applied market segments.
