Job Title: Database Administrator DB2 LUW, Cloud Database PlatformsLocation: Marysville, OH- 43040 (100% ONSITE)Job Type / Duration:6+ W2 Months Contract Database Administrator DB2 LUW, Cloud Database PlatformsDatabase Administration: Install, Configure, and Upgrade database software for DB2 LUW and Cloud Database Platforms. Monitor and maintain database health, performance, and security. Implement and manage database backup and recovery strategies. Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.Performance Tuning: Analyze and optimize SQL queries and database performance. Identify and resolve bottlenecks in database systems. Implement indexing and tuning strategies and partitioning for performance gains.Security & Compliance: Manage user access and roles. Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies. Perform audits and vulnerability assessments.Automation & Scripting: Develop scripts for monitoring, maintenance, and automation tasks. Use tools like shell scripting, Python, or Perl for automation.Collaboration: Work closely with application developers, system administrators, and business analysts to understand new requirements and recommend high level direction and approach. Provide support for development, testing, and production environments.Support: Resolve platform related issues. Participate in Incident Response. Coordinate with Vendors for Product related issues, Patches and Bug Fixes.Future Technologies: Assist in migrating On-Prem Databases to the cloud and integrating data from various sources into Cloud-based systems. Requirements:10+ years' experience as a DB2 LUW DBA in enterprise environments.Strong knowledge of DB2 LUW architecture, utilities, and tools. Experience with HADR, TSA, QREP and other high availability solutions.5+ years' experience with Cloud Concepts, AWS and other Cloud Technologies, IaaS and PaaS, Cloud Database Platforms (RDS PostgreSQL, AWS DynamoDB, DocumentDB, MongoDB, Neo4j, Neptune etc.)5+ years' experience working with large database / large scale projects.Proficiency with performance tuning and query optimization.Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting.Experience with monitoring toolsExcellent problem-solving and communication skills.Lead by Example: Build strong morale, team success, and positive feedback, and mentoring.Be willing to learn and adapt to emerging technologies.Use technology, design and/or architecture processes with business sense to make appropriate decisions.Good knowledge of Project Management principles.Excellent verbal communication skills, Strong visual presentation skills.Flexibility to communicate effectively with various levels of management.Ability to analyze critical information, assess upstream/downstream impact, and formulate broad recommendations.
