Job DescriptionJob DescriptionBenefits:Bonus based on performanceEmployee discountsPaid time offTraining & developmentJob ResponsibilitiesPrepare weekly menus that reflect all Department of Public Instructions requirementsWork with Administration Team for approvalPrepare breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks for all classroomsServe meals to each classroom on time, at the appropriate temperatureLunch service will need to be delivered to a second site, with food temperatures documented before leaving and upon arrivalWork with staff to collect meal numbers before food preparation of each mealPrepare appropriate amounts of food for each classroom, with amounts served by meeting DPI guidelinesMaintain daily production reportsMake weekly food orders through vendorsMaintain a clean and organized kitchen, including all food storage areasMake sure all thermometers are working properlyEnsure all food items are checked for expiration datesWash and sanitize all dishesClean the entire kitchen and appliances throughout the dayRemove trash and recyclables dailyOrganize and put away all groceries, food orders and non-food itemsTurn in all kitchen expense receipts and pre-prepared food item labels (CN labels) to the Administration TeamKnow and follow the mission of Small World Inc. of New GlarusProtect the privacy and confidentiality of information pertaining to families, children, team members, administration, and Board of DirectorsBuild positive relationships and communicate in a respectful manner with families, children, team members, administration, Board of Directors, and the communities in which we serveJob RequirementsMust be 18 years of ageBackground verification checkRead staff policy and procedure handbook and sign that you understand its contextFill out required forms to be kept in your personnel fileComplete and pass a physicalWear hairnet or hat while in the kitchenHave 4 hours of food and nutrition trainingBe able to lift to forty poundsEducation Requirements:High school diploma/Certificate/LicenseMinimum of four hours of annual training in:Menu PlanningDPI TrainingFood Safety and NutritionOther food related topics
