Job DescriptionJoin Our Team as a Dental Assistant!Location: Health Services Department at FCI/FSL Elkton- Lisbon OHJob Type: Full-timeOverview:Spectrum Healthcare Resources a premier healthcare services provider is seeking a dedicated civilian Dental Assistant for a potential opportunity at The Federal Bureau of Prisons Field Acquisition Office in Lisbon OH.If youre passionate about delivering top-quality dental care and thrive in a dynamic healthcare environment we want to hear from you.Hours of Performance:Monday to Friday 0600-1700 (40 hours per week)Responsibilities:Conduct comprehensive examinations of patients oral cavity including mouth throat and pharynx and record conditions of teeth and surrounding tissues.Refer patients with abnormalities such as cavities defective fillings suspicious growths or periodontal disease to the dentist.Apply desensitizing and other topical agents to treat abnormalities like gingivitis and oral ulceration.Instruct patients both individually and in groups in proper oral hygiene care using various materials and techniques.Explain the common causes of tooth decay and construct sports/safety mouth guards and soft night guards for vital bleaching.Polish restorations apply pit and fissure sealants and assist chairside dental assisting when directed by the dental clinics Officer in Charge (OIC).Maintain accurate records of patients treated and ensure proper maintenance and sterilization of instruments.Qualifications:Graduation from a dental assistant program that qualifies for state licensure.Three letters of referenceProof of Hepatitis B vaccination TB Skin test of chest radiography AHA CPR certificationTraining in radiation physics biology health safety/protection X-ray films/digital radiography image quality and radiographic techniques meeting or exceeding 42 C.F.R.
