Job Description

The Deputy Court Administrator for Special Courts is responsible for managing the operations of the Magisterial District Judge (MDJ) Courts. This includes overseeing assigned staff establishing zones for preliminary hearings and handling various administrative duties. Additional responsibilities include criminal caseflow management collecting statistics and representing court administration in meetings related to the MDJs.Job DutiesManages the operations of the MDJ Courts.Manages and coordinates the central court schedules and zone schedules for preliminary hearings.Responsible for coordinating the hiring of MDJ employees. This includes preparing job vacancy announcements scheduling interviews and participating in the interview process. Provides support and assistance to the MDJs in supervising their employees. Collaborates with Human Resources concerning MDJ staff.Acts as liaison between MDJ offices and other court and county offices.Responsible for caseflow management for criminal cases including assignment of judges and maintaining the criminal trial list.Attends meetings involving MDJ and/or criminal case processing.Facilitates the exchange of information between MDJs and the Purchasing Department concerning facilities procurement of office space and physical facility matters.Compiles and submits requests for senior MDJ paperwork to the AOPC.Minimum QualificationsBachelors degree in Business Public Administration or a closely related field; PLUSTwo years of experience in court management or three years of varied office management work including professional-level experience in budgeting procurement and human resources management.An equivalent combination of education experience and/or training may be considered.Additional RequirementSatisfactory criminal background check required.Job HighlightsExcellent benefits program including comprehensive low-cost medical dental vision and prescription plans for employees and eligible family members beginning on the first day of employment.13 paid holidays 12 paid sick days and 12 paid vacation days per year.
