We also foster a culture built on high performance, collaboration, continuous improvement, and ongoing professional development.Summary:We are seeking a skilled BIW (Body-in-White) Design Engineer to support engineering design and development activities for automotive structures. This role focuses on delivering innovative, cost-effective, and manufacturable solutions for large-scale product development programs.Responsibilities:Lead engineering activities for BIW components, including feasibility studies, 3D modeling, layout reviews, and 2D drawing creation using CATIA.Analyze and resolve complex design challenges independently or with minimal guidance.Develop part specifications and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM).Collaborate with internal teams, adjacent component groups, and suppliers to optimize design and integration.Perform cost analysis, strength calculations, and material selection to meet performance and budget targets.Apply best practices and leverage emerging technologies to improve product quality, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency.Identify opportunities for design optimization and implement strategies to reduce part complexity and manufacturing costs.Travel to client sites as required for design reviews and collaboration.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing, or related field) with 2–5 years of relevant experience, OR Associate's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.Minimum 3 years of experience working specifically with BIW components preferred.Proficiency in CATIA V5 (V6 experience is a plus).Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM).Knowledge of material properties, strength calculations, and cost analysis.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in MS Office Suite.Goken is committed to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and engaging workplace across all global locations.
