The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Grandville seeking Design Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit. Key Responsibilities Develop and optimize mechanical designs for manufacturability and performance. Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings for production. Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for product components. Collaborate with manufacturing production and quality teams to resolve design issues. Conduct design analysis (e.g. DFM DFA) to ensure cost-effectiveness and reliability. Support prototyping testing and validation of new and modified designs. Generate and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for design specifications. Ensure designs comply with industry standards safety regulations and customer requirements. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks Inventor Creo) and PDM systems. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g. machining injection molding welding) and material selection. Expertise in applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and DFM/DFA principles. Experience with design validation prototyping and testing methodologies. Ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop innovative cost-effective solutions. Bonus Qualifications Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles. Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Hands-on experience with prototyping fabrication or assembly processes. Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or Product Data Management (PDM) systems. Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
