Professional Development Education.Job SummaryThe Design Engineer I Structural will complete routine engineering work on projects of varying sizes under the supervision of experienced engineers. Duties and ResponsibilitiesAdopt a positive attitude of accountability by providing reliable constructable affordable and timely solutions (RCAT) resulting in Providence being the Engineer of ChoicePerform routine or entry-level engineering tasks neatly accurately and efficiently to meet budget hours estimate provided by supervisorPrepare engineering calculations and minor designs while developing skills to take professional engineer exam for licensingWork on multiple concurrent projects for various project managers and sometimes for other branchesDocument project experience for NCEES record to facilitate future licensureAfter gaining experience prepare hours estimates for project proposals for use by project managerDevelop communications skills through correspondence and coordination with internal clientsAttend design meetings construction meetings and site visits with experienced engineerComply with company policies and proceduresParticipate in continuing education webinars and education sessionsParticipate in networking and Young Professionals eventsPerform other related duties as assignedKnowledge Experience and SkillsBachelors degree in Structural Engineering Civil Engineering Architectural Engineering with structural emphasis or a closely related field is requiredComplete and pass Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE)0-2 years of related experience as a student intern or employment experience as an Engineer-in-Training highly preferredExceptional analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to use Risa 3D RAM Tedds or similar company-approved structural analysis software in concert with hand-written calculationsAbility to present hand-written calculations in an organized and legible mannerProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software to maintain accurate project records Key Skills Stress Analysis,Structural Design,Structural Engineering,Structural Steel,Mathcad,Engineering designs,Aerospace,CAD,Construction Documents,Autocad,Engineering Drawings,Structural Analysis,Layouts,Catia,ANSYs Employment Type : Full-Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
