Key Responsibilities Develop and refine mechanical designs for manufacturing processes using CAD software. Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to optimize product designs. Create detailed engineering drawings specifications and Bills of Material (BOMs). Conduct feasibility studies stress analyses and simulations to validate design concepts. Collaborate with production quality and supply chain teams to ensure design implementation and resolve issues. Participate in prototyping testing and root cause analysis of design-related failures. Manage design changes and product lifecycle documentation throughout the development process. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Design or a related field. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g. machining injection molding sheet metal fabrication) and material science. Experience applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles. Ability to perform engineering calculations tolerance analysis and design validation. Bonus Qualifications Experience with advanced simulation software (FEA CFD). Demonstrated knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles. Hands-on experience with prototyping testing and validation of designs. Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
