Key Responsibilities Design and develop mechanical components assemblies and systems for manufacturing. Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards. Apply DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles to optimize designs. Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes based on performance cost and availability. Conduct design calculations simulations and analyses to validate product performance and reliability. Collaborate with manufacturing quality and supply chain teams throughout the product lifecycle. Support the prototyping testing and validation of new designs and product improvements. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Design or a related technical field. Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks Inventor CATIA) and PDM systems. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g. machining injection molding sheet metal) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM). Demonstrated knowledge of material science and selection for industrial applications. Expertise in applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards. Bonus Qualifications Experience with advanced simulation software (e.g. FEA CFD) for design validation. Hands-on experience with prototyping testing or shop floor operations. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles. Demonstrated experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) for specific processes (e.g. injection molding casting sheet metal).
