Create detailed 3D models and 2D engineering drawings ensuring adherence to industry standards and specifications. Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to optimize designs for production efficiency. Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes based on performance requirements cost and scalability. Support prototyping testing and validation of new designs incorporating feedback for iterative improvements. Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing quality and supply chain teams to ensure successful product launch. Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation including BOMs specifications and engineering change orders. Recommended Qualifications Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD CATIA) for 3D modeling and 2D drafting. Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles material science and common manufacturing processes (e.g. machining injection molding sheet metal). Demonstrated experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills for developing robust and efficient design solutions. Experience in prototyping testing and validation of mechanical designs. Bonus Qualifications Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies. Demonstrated hands-on experience with prototyping fabrication or machining. Proficiency with advanced simulation software (e.g. FEA CFD). Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Certification in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
