Design Professional II Architecture at HKS

Overview:Responsibilities:Modify or create implementation documents applying standard architectural techniques and procedures according to written and verbal specifications with general supervisionCollaborate on design and technical resolution and coordination for a defined portion of a projectAssist in preparing client presentations and present project design intentPerform product research; and assist project designers with material selection and system researchMay support research of code and zoning requirementsMay attend on-site visits field reviews and client and/or project meetings and documents these visits as appropriateAssist in preparing schedules and reviewing implementation documents and samples as neededCommunicate with other disciplines vendors and contractors to incorporate information into design project requirements and documents as neededProvide guidance and direction to entry-level staff as appropriateParticipate in team meetings to discuss project issues design and technical issues and coordination with other disciplinesPerform work in a manner that demonstrates an awareness of and an appreciation for the firms cultural values including a commitment to quality innovation learning and growthFoster and maintain a collaborative professional working relationship with the project teamPromote the firms principles of design excellence through the integration of responsible and sustainable design practice with the art of designRecognize the financial aspect of a project and basic accounting principles involved in the projects and firms profitabilityUnderstand the financial implications of overhead and chargeable time including accountability to project plan and planned utilization rateUnderstand the importance of growing and maintaining client relationships and the basic concept of business developmentAssist in pursuit of new design job opportunities either through relationship development or identifying additional work from existing clientsWork with design materials construction techniques building codes and quality control proceduresUse Autodesk Revit Adobe Photoshop Rhino Grasshopper Enscape Adobe InDesign software and three-dimensional computer visualization software tools; as well as Word Excel and PowerPoint software for creating writingQualifications:Bachelors or foreign equivalent degree in Architecture or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or as an Architect Design Professional or in a related/similar positionExperience therein to include 2 years of experience in architectural design and documentation and using Autodesk Revit Adobe Photoshop Rhino Grasshopper Enscape Adobe InDesign software and three-dimensional computer visualization software tools2 years of experience working with design materials building codes and quality control procedures2 years of experience in creative writing using Word Excel and PowerPoint software2 years of experience working with team-based project delivery methods.
