Job Description

(Temporary Internship Through 7/30/2026)The Desktop Administrator Intern provides frontline technical support and maintenance for end users across all IOTA Community Schools and the Home Office located in Memphis TN with a possibility of light travel to Little Rock AR. This role serves as a primary point of contact for technology-related issues during the temporary internship period ending July 30 2026.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESMaintain open proactive communication between IT and end usersRespond to support requests quickly thoroughly and professionallyTroubleshoot and repair end-user devices with emphasis on ChromebooksCollaborate with network administrators engineers application teams and knowledge management staffPerform remote and onsite diagnosis analysis and resolution of desktop issues; coordinate offsite repairs as neededInstall configure test maintain and monitor end-user devices and related technologyMaintain accurate technology inventory across schools and the Home OfficeLiaise with third-party vendors and support providersUse hand tools power tools and standard IT equipment safely and effectivelyLift and transport moderately heavy equipment (computers peripherals)Adapt quickly to changing technology and organizational needsKEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (TEMPORARY INTERNSHIP ROLE)Within the First 12 MonthsRespond to 85% of tickets within 1 business dayResolve 70% of support requests within 3 business daysAchieve 50% first-contact resolution while learning systems and sitesComplete all required onboarding and technical trainingDemonstrate working proficiency with Chromebooks Windows devices and printersMaintain or update inventory accuracy at assigned sitesDocument at least 2 internal knowledge base articles related to common issuesBy 3 MonthsMaintain 90% of tickets responded to within SLAAchieve 80% user satisfaction based on surveys and feedbackResolve 75% of tickets within 3 business daysIndependently manage common troubleshooting and escalation workflowsKeep ticket recurrence below 15% for resolved issuesHandle 70% of applicable tickets remotelyTake ownership of one improvement effort such as:Cleaning up inventoryCreating/updating standard operating proceduresImproving Chromebook prep/repair processEnhancing ticket management workflowQualifications : Education & Certification (Preferred)Professional experience supporting desktop computing environmentsBachelors or Associates degree in IT Computer Science or related fieldRelevant and current IT certifications (CompTIA Google Microsoft etc.)Knowledge & ExperienceHighly Desirable:Strong technical knowledge of Windows desktop hardware and softwareExperience supporting ChromebooksHands-on hardware troubleshooting skillsExperience supporting printers and document camerasBasic familiarity with Active Directory functions (password resets enabling/disabling users etc.)Advanced proficiency with Google Workspace (Gmail Drive Admin Console)Ability to read and understand technical documentationAbility to operate tools components and IT accessoriesPersonal Attributes (Required)Strong organizational skills and ability to build replicable systemsHigh integrity and professionalismExcellent written and oral communication skillsAnalytical and detail-oriented problem solverSelf-motivated and able to work with minimal supervisionStrong interpersonal and customer service orientationAbility to explain technical concepts in user-friendly languageCollaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in teamsCalm demeanor when handling high-pressure or complex issuesAdditional Information : CompensationThis full-time temporary internship pays $18$21 per hour based on experience.
