Sony Pictures Televisions Nonfiction group is the feature documentary premium content and reality unit within Sony Pictures Television (SPT). Through ownership interests in or partnerships with production companies Sharp Entertainment The Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC) B17 Entertainment 19 Entertainment This Machine Filmworks Maxine and Brass Monkeys Media the group creates and produces content in every form of nonfiction programming for audiences worldwide currently totaling more than 100 series across 35 networks.The Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC) a part of Sony Pictures Television is an Emmy Award-winning IP creation and production studio based in Van Nuys California. Founded in 2016 IPC develops and produces television film documentary and interactive mobile content. The company currently has series in production or development with most major US broadcasters cable networks and streaming platforms.Development Overview: Interns will assist both the Development and Current Programming teams in a wide array of administrative and creative tasks that will benefit the execution of our ordered shows as well as those we are preparing to sell to the marketplace. Interns will learn about pitch decks help brainstorm ideas conduct extensive research and learn about major key network players in the entertainment industry. Upon completion of this program successful interns will take away a deeper understanding of the creative processes of developing a successful show/film.Production Overview: Interns will assist both the Production Management and Operations Departments on current green-lit projects. Interns will work closely on assigned series and special projects with duties ranging anywhere from clerical and administrative to Pre-Production and Production. Interns will have the opportunity to get hands-on experience on set when available. Interns will learn about call sheets production equipment casting scouting business operations and more. Upon completion of this internship successful interns will take away a deeper understanding of what it takes to make a project come to life.Responsibilities:Assist executive assistants with the needs from department executivesAid in the writing and proofreading of creative documentsBrainstorm creative ideas and conceptsAid with the editing of sizzle reels and presentations for network / cable / streaming pitchesWatch/help with graphic design (i.e. the cover sheet on an episode treatment or research document)Work with our researchers to see how we develop characters for documentariesExposure to casting processes including arranging casting interviews heavy phones clericalParticipate on-set at local shoots sit in on development meetingsOther administrative duties as neededProduction Responsibilities include:Assisting production management team with the needs from executives and networksAssisting with rolling calls researching travel options booking flights and hotels liaising with vendors drafting email correspondence creating spreadsheets helping to organize expense reports handling mail making runs and organizing communicationsSitting in on production meetings staff meetings and observe production executives and staff as they make creative financial and production-based decisionsShadowing production coordinators and managers to learn about all production tasks associated with supporting production executives and provide desk coverage as neededWorking collaboratively or independently as neededFiling /organizing current project documents and archive old onesAssisting all operational events hosted at the office preparing and packing items and ensuring the office runs smoothlyOther administrative duties as neededQualifications:Demonstrate an interest in unscripted televisionPossess an energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideasWork well with others with a positive attitudeBe prepared to think critically and solve problemsBe able to successfully act autonomously while working in a team environmentBe detail-oriented with strong organizational skillsPossess strong written and verbal communication skillsUnderstanding and experience using Adobe Creative Suite Canva Graphics and design applications Avid is a plusPossess proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word PowerPoint and Excel) with a knowledge of Google Drive a plusThe anticipated base salary for this position is $19/hour. This role may also qualify for comprehensive benefits.
