Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPart-Time Bilingual PediatricianLocation: White Plains, NY (Hybrid Schedule)Hours: 28 hours/weekLanguage Requirement: English/Spanish Westchester Institute for Human Development (WIHD) is seeking a dedicated bilingual pediatrician to join our Pediatric Unit, which serves as the medical home for approximately 300 children in family foster care across Westchester County.Pediatrician ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive primary care to children in foster careFollow NYS Working Together guidelines and AAP standardsConduct pediatric evaluations and review medical recordsRefer to specialists and follow up on recommendationsPerform procedures and interpret lab resultsRespond to phone inquiries during office hours and on-call times (nights/weekends/holidays)Complete forms and reports for patients and DSS staffAdditional ResponsibilitiesEducate patients, families, DSS staff, and Pediatric Unit nursesDevelop printed materials and deliver presentationsConduct outreach to community agencies and DSS officesParticipate in discharge planning and board rate reviewsTrack developmental screenings and report to Westchester County DOH EIContribute to discussions at Foster Care Discharge Review meetingsPediatrician QualificationsMD or DO degree Board certification by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) Valid NYS medical license, DEA registration, and CPR certification AAP membership Bilingual in English and Spanish Experience with child welfare or vulnerable populations preferred Strong computer and EMR skills Excellent communication and public speaking abilities BenefitsPaid time off (Vacation, Sick, Personal and Holidays) Short-term and long-term disability (STD/LTD) Term life insurance 403(b) employer contribution Why WIHD?WIHD is a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities, serving over 10,000 individuals annually.
