Full-timeDescriptionJob SummaryAs an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) you will work under the guidance of a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to gain practical experience and develop the skills needed to obtain your PE license. This role involves supporting the engineering team in a variety of tasks including design analysis testing and troubleshooting. We love giving back to our community and here are some of the organizations we support: American Red Cross; Habitat for Humanity; Operation Finally Home and this is to name a few.Here at Terradyne Engineering we pay for any certifications needed that the team member needs to be successful in his/her career!RequirementsJob ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of a licensed professional engineer perform file exploration and prepare boring log plates that include soil descriptions and relevant engineering data.Under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer perform geotechnical design and analysis of earth-retaining structures slope and slope surface stability traffic index of pavement foundation septic system earthquake-induced liquefaction settlement. Direct technician in completing tests.Conduct projects including client interaction work scheduling project budget monitoring and quality control.Perform grading observation and inspection of construction projects and collect filed data and samples.Development of plans geologic cross-section and specifications.Analyze survey reports maps drawings blueprints aerial photography or other photographical or geologic data.Conduct subsurface investigations for residential commercial and public works projects.Perform engineering research on project-related issues.Prepare technical reports including soils engineering reports soil compaction reports and laboratory reports and supporting maps and tables.Update lab testing schedules calculate lab test results prepare lab reports and review and summarize laboratory test data.Inspect project sites to monitor and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety or related standards.Provide technical advice to industrial or managerial personnel regarding design construction or program modifications or structural requirements.Stay up to date with industry trends standards and technologies.Job Skills & RequirementsEIT Certification requiredBachelors Degree in Civil EngineeringProficient with Microsoft Office.Demonstrated leadership skillsComputer aptitude and ability to adapt to the companys systemsA valid drivers license and a clean driving history requiredGood written and verbal communication skillsAbility to create positive and professional working relationshipsExcellent problem-solvingHigh level of initiativeAbility to follow instructions.Excellent time management skills.Always adhering to safety protocols and procedures.Must be a self-starter reliable and come with a good and humble attitudeAttention to detail.Strong teamwork communication multitasking and organizational skills.Clean MVR background and drug screening.Valid drivers license.Tasks assigned by the supervisor or managerBenefitsMedical insurance (United Healthcare)Dental & Vision (Guardian)401K Match (Principal)PTO accrual since (start accruing since your 1st workday)7 Paid Holidays (It varies per job site/client needs)Opportunities for professional development training and growth.Competitive pay commensurate with experience.Were an equal-opportunity employer.
