Hourly Pay Range:$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.Position Highlights:Position: Diagnostic Imaging Assistant, OncologyLocation: Northwest Community Hospital - Arlington Heights, ILFull Time | 40 hours/weekHours: Monday-Friday, 7am - 3:30pm, no weekends or holidays.A Brief Overview:The Diagnostic Imaging Assistant will assist the Technologist with explaining the procedure to patients and their families and obtain history from the patient.The Diagnostic Imaging Assistant will also act as a receptionist, maintain supply inventory, and assist with scheduling and pre-registration services.What you will do:Performs technical and clinical assistance to technologists and radiologists including, arranging equipment, positioning patients on exam tables, and maintaining exam rooms.Assists physicians and technologists in biopsies, preparing histology slides, and handling specimen and/or biohazardous waste.Cleans exam room after procedures, handles infectious or biohazard waste materials.Prepares and annotates radiographic images or film for diagnostic purposes.Obtains radiologist interpretation of patient examinations and accurately communicates results of tests to clinical team.Provides patients with any necessary examination prep instructions and answers questions about procedures.Performs direct-contact patient care duties such as patient bathroom calls, patient clothes changes, and patient transports.Performs reception duties such as welcoming patients, entering patient information in Epic, and patient scheduling, and taking calls.Maintains medical records using Epic, PACS, and RIS systems.Assists in training of new reception personnel.What you will need:Education: High School Diploma, requiredExperience: 1 year experience in a healthcare setting, especially in direct patient care roles or 1 year prior secretarial experience and medical terminology, preferred. 1 Year excellent phone etiquette experience, required.Certification: CPR - American Heart Association (AHA), preferred.Benefits (For full time or part time positions):Career Pathways to Promote Professional Growth and DevelopmentVarious Medical, Dental, Pet and Vision optionsTuition ReimbursementFree ParkingWellness Program Savings PlanHealth Savings Account OptionsRetirement Options with Company MatchPaid Time Off and Holiday PayCommunity Involvement OpportunitiesEndeavor Health is a fully integrated healthcare delivery system committed to providing access to quality, vibrant, community-connected care, serving an area of more than 4.2 million residents across six northeast Illinois counties.
