These duties include preparing DMS students for their SPI exam specialty exams tutoring and advising of students visiting students at externship site aiding with the acquisition of externship sites with an emphasis on extern to hire sites and working with students in lab settings as required. The DMS Advisor will also support other program personnel as assigned.Knowledge Skills and Abilities:Strong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work effectively and patiently with students and externship techniciansStrong organizational skillsStrong scanning skillsCredentials and Experience:High school diploma or GED RequiredAA/AS in Diagnostic Medical SonographyPassage of the SPI test required; prefer graduates who are making progress towards or have acquired RDMS licensureRecent graduate of DMS program preferredWork experience related to the course preferredResponsibilities and Duties:Assists the DMS Program Director and Clinical Coordinator with daily organizational and administrative functions and students needs as directed. These include:New start paperwork for DMS and presentations distributing scrubs scheduling and organizing immunizations/vaccinationsHelps the Clinical Coordinator as neededHelps career services with presentations PAC meeting efforts and employment placement effortsCertified CPR trainer for the DMS program and other programs as neededSchedules and oversees Fire Safety class during DMS 255 (pre-clinical seminar)Helps students with SPI tutoring and testing (including scheduling)Supports students during lab assignments and other program requirementsAssists Lab Aid with orders/inventoryAssists with DMS Program open lab hoursAdditional duties and responsibilities as determinedExhibit excellent customer service and professionalism to all current students prospective students and coworkers from all departments at all timesSpecial Requirements:Overtime as requested by supervisor may include: evenings weekends and/or holidaysAttendance at Platt College Graduation Ceremony required if a job duty is assignedAble to lift 35lbs.Equal Employment OpportunityIn order to provide equal employment and advancement opportunities to all individuals employment decisions will be based on merit qualifications and abilities.
