The person will shadow an expert Die Cutting Operator for setting up adjusting monitoring and operating a die cutting machine: dismantle previous job logs impressions on saved jobs with date press and chase number or dispose of dies as marked pull samples and glue set to check for accuracy according to the specifications. As a Die Cutting Apprentice you will learn how to focus on continuously checking for accuracy and quality monitor the machine and correct problems as they occur. The person will be responsible for the quality of the die cutting of finished products.If you are not simply looking for a job Oliver Inc will help you mark a milestone in your professional career path!What Youll LearnAs a Die Cutting Apprentice you will be trained by experienced operators to learn how to:Assist in setting up adjusting and operating die cutting machines used for folding cartons.Work with steel rule dies counter plates and stripping/blanking tools.Support the make-ready process including sheet alignment and pressure adjustments.Inspect sheets and finished blanks for cutting accuracy scoring/creasing quality cracking and dimensional tolerance.Troubleshoot basic machine or material issues.Follow all safety procedures including proper equipment handling.Assist with cleaning maintenance and preparation of tooling and machines.Collaborate with team members to meet production goals.What Were Looking ForYoure a fit for our Die Cutting Apprentice if your background includes:Preferred: Some prior die cutting converting printing or finishing experience.Mechanical aptitude and interest in machine operation.Good math skills and ability to read measurements.Strong attention to detail and quality.Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods.Positive attitude reliability and willingness to learn.Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.People oriented Oliver Inc is an Equal Opportunity Employer.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race color national origin religion gender gender identity and expression sex sexual orientation disability age citizenship status veteran status or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal state or local laws.
