Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDiesel Mechanic / Heavy Equipment Mechanic ShipyardLocation: Portsmouth, VAPay: $27.00 $32.00 per hour (based on experience)Shift: 1st Shift (Day Shift)Company: Venture Dynamics EnterprisePosition Summary: Venture Dynamics Enterprise is seeking experienced Diesel and Heavy Equipment Mechanics to support shipyard and industrial operations. The ideal candidate will be skilled in inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems. Local workers preferred.Responsibilities:Inspect, repair, and overhaul diesel and gasoline engines and other internal combustion equipment.Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in heavy-duty vehicles and mobile equipment such as cranes, forklifts, and utility vehicles.Rebuild and maintain transmissions, hydraulic utility systems, and related mechanical assemblies.Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections.Use diagnostic tools, technical manuals, and schematics to troubleshoot and complete repairs accurately.Follow all safety and environmental procedures while working in a shipyard setting.Requirements:3+ years of experience as a Diesel or Heavy Equipment Mechanic.Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing diesel and gasoline engines.Ability to overhaul hydraulic, transmission, and mechanical systems.Experience working on cranes, forklifts, and mobile equipment preferred.Must have own basic tools and reliable transportation.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Must pass background and drug screening per shipyard requirements.Benefits:Competitive hourly paySteady, full-time workOvertime opportunities availableLocal candidates strongly encouraged to apply
