If youre passionate about making a difference and thrive in a collaborative setting New Bridge Medical Center is looking for a Dietary Technician.Job DutiesModifies menus according to the master menu patients personal food preferences and in compliance with the prescribed therapeutic diet.Transcribes diet order received through diet order forms and verbal phone orders to the patient listings.Enter patient data (e.g. diet orders therapeutic needs) into the computer system. Prints reports and labels for menu modifications snacks supplements and tub feeding orders.Answers telephone and process orders for immediate meal assembly in kitchen and/or updates diet orders for subsequent meals.Performs a variety of related clerical duties including maintaining records reports and files.Customer Service: respect flexibility knowledge confidence professionalism pleasant attitude patience and helpfulness. All responses should be timely professional caring and respectful in accordance with Customer Service Performance expectationsMaintains established departmental policies and procedures objectives quality assurance program safety environmental and infection control standards. Assesses gaps in policies and procedures and creates necessary policies and procedures to fulfill these gaps.Understands and adheres to the Medical Centers Code of Conduct.Familiar with the Medical Centers Mission Vision and Values Statements.Other DutiesCollects Diet Order forms on assigned floors.Prepares snacks supplements and tube feeding orders for preparation in the kitchen.As required assists in maintenance of department equipment and ordering supplies.Performs the duties of the Food Service Worker as needed.Conducts special projects collects data for quality assurance reviews and other related assignments.Attend meetings as required.Performs other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the department and organization.Position QualificationsBasic data entry skills preferred.Typing: 25 wpm preferredSpeaks reads and writes English to the extent required by the position. Knowledge of a second language is useful.Good oral and written communication skills.Knowledge of basic and therapeutic nutrition nutritional values of foods and regional ethnic and religious food preferences.EducationHigh School graduation or equivalent required.Associates degree in food and nutrition or related field or high school graduation with one year experience in healthcare is preferred.Job Setting/Physical DemandsDiet officeMostly sedentarySalary commensurate with experience within posted rangeWe provide a comprehensive benefits package including a competitive medical dental and vision plans.
