Diffusion EPI Team Leader

The Diffusion EPI Team Leader at Samsung Austin Semiconductor is responsible for equipment and process team members providing them with guidance, technical decision making and people development aligned with departmental strategy. This role requires understanding of Diffusion processes and equipment. Highly motivated in mentoring and leading both Engineering and Technician teams. They will lead daily operations work as well as long term technical improvements. Effectively communicate within department and top leadership.

  • Problem Solving/Analysis on technical, logistics, operational problems.
  • Communication proficiently to team members, department leaders, executive leaders.
  • Supervisory responsibility.
  • Understand the importance of team development.
  • Assessment of performance on assigned work, regular feedback/coaching on expectations and recognition/recommendations for awards for members of your team.
  • Create a culture of accountability and fairness.
  • Professional development and training of their team members.
  • Master the art and science of delivering effective, constructive feedback.

Here's what you'll need:

  • 4 years of college in related field
  • Requires 10+ years of semiconductor engineering equipment or process ownership or similar manufacturing bottleneck, equipment or process ownership experience.
  • Problem Solving: Identifies complex problems and reviews related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Experience using KT analysis techniques, 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and flow charts.
  • Judgment and Decision Making: Considers the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate solution for direct reports and equipment.
  • Time Management: Schedules and prioritizes time and activities to accomplish goals and meet deadlines
  • Teamwork and Communication: Works well in a team environment and effectively communicates throughout the department and organization
  • Familiarity with SPC, FMEA, FDC, yield analysis and other standard engineering and manufacturing practices.

Work environment:

  • Most work is performed in an office environment and 4 hours a day in the semiconductor fabrication facility where a cleanroom gown is required

Physical demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.
  • The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand.
  • The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds.

The current base salary range for this role is between $109,050 - $212,650. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
