Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:Digital Press Operator needed on 1st and 3rd shift!Job Summary:The Digital Press Operator is responsible for setting up print. Responsibilities include verifying the stock, ink and text of printed documents are correct and match the work order. Additionally, the Digital Press Operator is required to make the necessary press adjustments to ensure the printed products meet GSP quality standards and print efficiency standards. The Digital Press Operator is responsible for the cleanliness of the press, his or her press line and surrounding area, and the proper daily use and maintenance of the equipment required for Digital production. The Digital Press Operator will all assist with training and coaching of others as required.Duties and Responsibilities:Ability to set-up and run a minimum of two different press types Set up press in accordance with GSP and industry specifications Verify information on work order is correct: job number, letter code, color type, files match work order, completing 1st article inspection, etc. Make press adjustments as required to ensure quality standards are metMeet or exceed print efficiency standardsCommunicate technical issues or problems to Managers and/or Supervisors as well Maintenance TechniciansComplete daily & weekly paperwork as requiredStrong grasp of GSP’s workflow, processes, and procedures Complete maintenance logs and report press downtime as requiredMaintain cleanliness of press & press area, performing basic machine maintenanceAll other duties as requested, including supporting other departmentsShift differential for 3rd shift!Requirements:Education and Experience:4-color process experience, preferredQualifications, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:Mechanical Aptitude, preferred Organized, with strong attention to detailManage large workload, and maintain high quality and accuracy of workMeet deadlines and mitigate disruptions to workflowKnowledgeable in basic math, fractions, and percentagesAbility to pass a basic skills testAbility to communicate (Read, speak, write, understand) in EnglishAble to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.Available for weekend work shifts & overtime as requiredSafety conscious with ability to perform job functions in a safe mannerAbility to work alone and under minimal supervisionCommunicate professionally, effectively, and appropriately with all levels of employeesAbility to think outside the box when creative solutions are needed Work well on a team and contribute positively to GSP culturePhysical demands:PC/Keyboard: Position requires work on computers, using keyboards and viewing monitorStanding: Standing for entire assigned shift Lifting: Raising or lowering an object from one level to another (Includes upward pulling) of up to 50 lbs.Carrying: Transporting an object, usually holding it in the hands or arms, or on the shoulder Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.Feeling: Ability to identify texture of material such as if lamination has been applied and being able to distinguish different gauges of material thickness Talking: Verbal communication including giving instruction and exchanging information with necessary detail and delivery Hearing: Communication including listening to people convey instructions or conversation, and distinguishing noises from machines and within the plant
