This role is responsible for writing and editing stories across a wide range of topics reacting to breaking news across platforms clipping and optimizing video on and on YouTube and executing on growth initiatives across platforms.We are looking for someone with strong news judgment who can write and edit clear accurate fact-driven copy and craft compelling headlines on deadline in a fast-paced environment. Scrupulous attention to detail a cool head under pressure and excellent communication skills are essential.This role is 32 hours per week and your schedule will be Tuesday-Friday from 2:30-11:30p though you may be expected to shift your schedule to cover holidays and PTO.Your day-to-day:Coordinate produce and update web coverage of news stories gathering the latest information from a variety of sources always being mindful of CBS Stations standardsReact quickly to breaking news writing and publishing articles and running live blogsClip and optimize videos for YouTube and other platforms writing compelling SEO-friendly headlines and descriptionsManage homepages to present the best of the journalism we produceWork with reporters and producers to publish the best of CBS News and Stations to our websiteSend push alerts on breaking news weather and other high-interest storiesWhat you bring to the team:You have 2 years of experience in a digital breaking news environment and a proven ability to react quickly as news developsYou are a skilled writer who can produce quality copy on deadlineYou have experience executing on SEO strategiesYou have a knack for framing content in an engaging way for a digital audienceYoure deeply familiar with analytics platforms like Google Analytics Omniture Chartbeat and You thrive in a collaborative team environmentParamount Streaming a division within Paramount Global is the home to the companys direct-to-consumer services spanning free and paid in the form of Pluto TV and Paramount.
