PositionDigital Services Technician SMR USALocationElko NVScopeThe Digital Services Technician is responsible for advancing Smart Equipment capabilities and implementing tools and processes to leverage real information that improves Aftermarket growth opportunities. This will include installing and maintaining telematics devices developing data flow technologies and interface addition the role will explore evaluate and implement new digital solutions and emerging technologies to optimize connectivity data integration and the customer experience.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESTo implement and maintain solutions to transmit product telemetry data and make that data availablePerform mechanical installations and software configurations on machines in mining environmentsDevelop strategies procedures and processes to synchronize data collected on mobile mining equipmentMaintain remote connections and perform diagnostics to ensure data transfer to cloud and on-premises systemsIdentify other opportunities to leverage real data to improve Sandviks ability to improve customer services increase aftermarket sales and generally help add value to customers experience utilizing Sandvik equipmentUnderstand and review current tools available to customers with the view of understanding other value drivers and working with the global team to improve the tools available to customersAssist customers and Sandvik Specialists to integrate equipment telematics data to feed into customer systemsTo provide training for Sandvik service technicians for connectivity solutionsProvide customer training on Sandvik Digital OfferingsPerforms other relevant duties as assigned by the managerCollaborate with global teams to assess technology trends and adapt innovative solutions to the mining environment.Safety and EnvironmentAdherence to the Sandvik Environmental Health & Safety Policy.Attending health and safety related trainings.Performing Risk Assessments (Take Five) prior to each task.Identification and reporting of hazards.Working in a safe manner as reasonably practicable.Wearing the required PPEs assigned for each location.Education & Experience requirements2-6 years of related work experience minimum of 1 year working with Control System Hardware and SoftwareFamiliarity with telemetry and implementationWorking knowledge of networking and network protocolsFamiliar with CAN bus network and troubleshootingFamiliar with database methodologiesUnderstanding and capability to develop specialized interface tools using programs such as SQLAbility to implement protocols and process to help improve the ability for data flow whether through WIFI links or via USB manual downloadsDiploma or Bachelors degree in network electronic mechatronics or related disciplineComputer systems literacyStrong report writing skillsHighly developed time management and organizational skillsGood communications skillsAbility to work aloneComfortable in a heavy industrial environmentDrivers license requiredExisting Underground safety training considered an assetBenefitsSandvik offers a phenomenal catalog of benefits and employee perks such as:Benefits eligibility that begin 30 days after start dateHealth care eligibility that includes medical dental vision prescription and telemedicinePaid vacation with up to 40 hours available to roll over in to the next yearToolkit valued at $1500 and a yearly $500 allowanceA very strong 401(k) retirement savings plan.
