As an Engineering Manager Website you will partner with Digital Product Management Digital Design Marketing and Digital Merchandising to drive the technical strategy implementation and roadmap for key areas of . You will be accountable for building high-performing teams that deliver quality reliable secure and scalable digital commerce products. With the skills you gain in this role the opportunities are endless from a rewarding career in Digital Technology to continued growth and development with Aritzia.THE ROLEAs the Engineering Manager Website you will:Directly manage a squad of developers and QA engineers providing mentorship career development and performance management ensuring the squad consistently delivers high quality workBuild a collaborative team culture through participating in hiring decisions onboarding new team members and creating individual development plansDefine and communicate the technical vision and roadmap for your product area balancing short-term delivery with long-term architectural goals while ensuring alignment with broader platform strategyEstablish and uphold technical standards and system design principles guiding architecture decisions managing technical debt and maintaining best practices through code reviews and structured processesPartner cross-functionally with Product Managers and Designers to shape solutions validate feasibility and recommend technical approaches that enhance user experienceDrive delivery excellence through agile leadership removing blockers tracking team velocity and quality metrics and communicating progress and commitments to stakeholdersProvide strategic technical support through selective hands-on coding for critical items high-level code reviews and advanced debugging while serving as the escalation point for complex production issues and ensuring knowledge sharing across the teamTHE QUALIFICATIONSThe Engineering Manager Website has:Proven and best-in-class skills in full-stack development as well as experience leading and overseeing developers & QA/QE/SDETStrong proficiency in React modern JavaScript/TypeScript and eCommerce-specific challenges (catalogs cart checkout flows)Working knowledge of backend technologies ( APIs databases) to guide architecture and review codeExperience with commerce platforms (Salesforce Commerce Cloud/PWAKit preferred)Understanding of testing strategies and ability to ensure robust test coverageFamiliarity with payment integrations inventory management SEO and customer experience optimizationKnowledge of web performance optimization and conversion rate principlesProven ability to lead and mentor developers and QA engineers with experience in resource planning and sprint managementExcellent communication skills to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and make decisions under pressureA growth mindset with enthusiasm for leadership development strategic thinking and building inclusive high-performing teamsA commitment to learn apply champion and enrich Aritzias Values and Business and People Leadership principlesThe skills to collaborate strategically with cross-functional partners in the pursuit of shared business outcomesThe ability to set clear objectives and design a strategy that inspires the teamA dedication to quality and investing in results and new business opportunities that add valueTHE COMPENSATIONThe typical hiring range for this position is $175000$225000 per year. The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge skills and experience.
