May lead the work of departmental staff and set operational objectives for the team. Ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by staff and customers.This position will interact on a regular basis with: culinary staff, vendors, students, and facultyThis position typically will advise and counsel: culinary staff, vendors, students, and faculty Responsibilities Job Duty 1 - Participate in leading and training team members, temporary and student employees regarding departmental policies and proceduresJob Duty 2 - Lead the work of shift staff in preparing, cooking, and storing food, as well as in maintaining kitchen and storage facilities in sanitary conditionJob Duty 3 - Oversees food quality and organization of stations. Assists on stations, prepares, and follows daily prep sheets and recipes according to the Chef, monitors product on linesJob Duty 4 - Maintain, repair and clean utensils, equipment, and work areas. Report damaged equipment or utensils to manager/supervisors on dutyJob Duty 5 - Operate point-of-sale devices as cashier on an as needed basisJob Duty 6 - Perform other related duties as assignedRequired Qualifications Educational RequirementsHigh School Diploma/GED or Vocational School DiplomaOther Required QualificationsCertifications or licenses required for this job: Current ServSafe CertificationRequired ExperienceTwo to three years of job-related experiencePreferred Qualifications Preferred Educational QualificationsTechnical Diploma, Associate Degree, or two years college course work in the Culinary Arts related fieldPreferred ExperienceThree or more years of work-related experience in institutional food service or large-scale food production kitchen. Experience in a commercial food service environment desired.Proposed Salary Proposed Salary: 21.20 - 28.83 Per Hour Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities ABILITIESHave open availability to include nights and weekends.
