Direct Tax Manager at Vitol

Vitols Tax team is a group of high-performing professionals who deliver value beyond traditional tax addition to managing federal state and international tax compliance for North American entities the team provides expert tax advice to management commercial investment and other teams. The Direct Tax team oversees all tax aspects of Vitols trading renewable assets and service companies offering exposure to core trading upstream and renewables businesses as well as deal and investment transactions. Regularly consulted by Senior Management the team delivers critical tax analysis and insights for key decision-making. Vitols Tax organization offers a dynamic environment focused on growth learning and career development.Responsibilities may include:Support investment and deal teams in acquisitions and salesReview federal state and local income/franchise tax returns and estimated/extension paymentsReview quarterly income tax accruals reconciliations deferred tax items and provision reportingGather and analyze data from general ledger and trading systemsManage federal and state tax audits and jurisdictional noticesIdentify tax savings and support tax planningPerform other duties as assigned (subject to change)Successful candidates will:Lead a team of four professionalsManage multiple priorities and projects simultaneouslyDemonstrate curiosity creativity and adaptabilityBuild strong relationships across a global organizationEmbrace new concepts in a fast-paced environmentExhibit strong quantitative analytical and critical thinking skillsContinuously assess and improve processesWork effectively both independently and within a teamCommunicate clearly and effectivelyEarn trust through consistent follow-throughQualifications : 8 or more years of federal/state income tax experience with equivalent federal/state corporate tax (including consolidations) compliance and accrual (ASC 740 / IAS 12) experience in business or industryExperience in managing a team in a multinational corporationAdvanced Excel skillsCPA license is preferredExperience with OneSource Income Tax is preferredExposure to partnership tax is preferredWorking knowledge of tax implications related to Renewable Energy projects and transactionsAdditional Information : Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment.
