Since its founding in 1984 Calpine has led the power industry in its unwavering commitment to environmental addition its renewable geothermal plants use steam generated deep below the earths surface to produce clean renewable electricity.Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following other duties may be assigned)Responsible for providing quantitative and strategic insight into Plant Operations and Maintenance. Provides technical support insight and recommendations on plant reliability items. Analyzes application and understands implications of data regarding operations major maintenance and economic characteristics for use in commercial decision-making. Ensures contractual obligations are met in the most cost-effective manner and projects operate in accordance with financial contracts and agreements. Facilitates budget management process seeks out improvements in execution monitors derates and is innovative in seek resolutions to operation deficiencies. Monitors plant MM and POX dollars and provides regular updates to the Regional Vice President. Where appropriate interfaces with development and gov regulation teams to improve growth and financial opportunities.Job ResponsibilitiesManages multiple department functions with an operational and maintenance focus.Completes special projects as assigned by the RVPSupports the flow of information to the Asset Performance teamManages activities of broad functional area through first level management and professionals including full human resources cost and budgetary accountability.Decisions typically related to implementation of department strategy intradepartmental coordination and business outcomesResults have significant impact on costs and achievement of department objectives.Identifies opportunities which make a significant difference to the performance of multiple department functions and possibly organization-wide impact.Makes decisions for large-scale projects a closely related set of projects and/or initiatives involving multiple functional areas.Manages ECM assessment studies to support repair and operational adjustments including outage planning.Work with Dispatch personnel and Planning groups to optimize outage timing.Establishes operational objectives for multiple functions including work plans and delegating assignments to subordinate managers and senior professionals.Works within broad guidelines; applies advanced technical knowledge of multiple functions to solve complex problems which may have long-term impact on the department.Shares and mentors Regional Plant Managers MM and Operations Managers.Assist in complex Operational and Maintenance issuesSupports the development of corrective actionsManages multiple functions within a department with responsibility for results in terms of costs methods and employees.Responsible to provide feedback to the RVP for performance reviews promotional decisions and pay actions for top professionals and management.Provides leadership and technical directionJob RequirementsBachelors Degree in engineering finance economics or accounting or equivalent combination of education and work experience.Previous management experience.Typically requires minimum of 10 years in area of power plant operation and maintenanceSalary InformationSalary Range - $167708.45 - $213828.28Additional Calpine Information:Equal Opportunity Employer of Minorities Females Protected Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities.Calpine is committed to Equal Employment Opportunity and providing reasonable accommodations to applicants with physical and/or mental disabilities.
