We started Oscar in 2012 to create the kind of health insurance company we would want for ourselvesone that behaves like a doctor in the family.About the role:The Director of HR will lead and manage core HR functions with a primary focus on compliance employee relations risk mitigation and ensuring consistency in HR policies and practices across the organization. This role serves as a strategic partner to executive leadership while providing operational oversight.You will report into the Senior Director Chief of Staff.Work Location: This position is based in our Tempe AZ office requiring a hybrid work schedule with 3 days of in-office work per week. Thursdays are a required in-office day for team meetings and events while your other two office days are flexible to suit your schedule. #LI-HybridPay Transparency: The base pay for this role is: $142560 - $187110 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits participation in Oscars unlimited vacation program company equity grants and annual performance bonuses.Responsibilities:Assess develop and deploy a vision and roadmap to support effective employee relations and HR compliance across the enterprise.Ensure company-wide compliance with federal state and local laws and regulations leveraging key legal stakeholders for input and partnership.Owns continuous improvement of employee relations process and tools with the ability to provide executive synthesis on complex and high-risk employee mattersCollaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop a strategic and solutions-focused approach which includes developing scalable standardized frameworks and coaching HR & people leaders.Be a trusted advisor to leaders and colleagues on workplace concerns and handle highly confidential matters in partnership with counsel.Be proactive and anticipate change providing critical and timely input about consequences and implications of local law and best practices to all internal stakeholdersLead the HR team through strategy execute and serve as an escalation pointBuild and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and external partners including but not limited to People IT Comms Legal Security Finance and supporting vendors.Compliance with all applicable laws and regulationsOther duties as assignedRequirements:8 years of progressive HR4 years of leadership experience3 years of employee relations and policy design experienceBachelors degree in Human Resources or commensurate experienceBonus points:SHRM-SCP SPHR or similar HR certificationsExperience it HR Acuity-ER platformExperience building and presenting on executive level materialsThis is an authentic Oscar Health job opportunity.
