JOB DESCRIPTION

South Shore Health is looking for a dynamic, relationship‑driven leader to elevate our Medical Staff Services and strengthen the provider experience across our system. As the Director of Medical Staff Services, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our medical staff community, enhancing operational excellence, and ensuring a seamless, high‑quality experience for every provider who joins and practices within our organization.


This is an opportunity to lead a talented team, influence system‑wide initiatives, and partner closely with executive and physician leadership to shape the next generation of medical staff operations.


What You’ll Lead:


  • Oversight of Medical Staff Services, Provider Onboarding, CME, the Medical Library, and GME
  • Credentialing operations for 1,400+ providers
  • Orientation and onboarding for ~200 new providers each year
  • Development and implementation of medical staff policies and governance processes
  • Collaboration with HR Recruitment, Provider Enrollment, Malpractice, CME, GME, and IS to streamline processes and enhance provider experience
  • Leadership of key committees, including Bylaws, Credentials, and MEC

What You Bring:


Experience in healthcare operations with strong provider-facing engagement

Proven leadership and team‑development skills

Expertise in workflow redesign, data accuracy, and process improvement

Exceptional communication and relationship‑building abilities

CPCS certification required; CPMSM candidates actively working toward certification are welcome


Preferred Qualifications:


Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)

Background in medical staff services, credentialing, or related healthcare operations
