The Director of Business Development provides leadership to support the agency in meeting growth expectations tied to revenue, census, and start-of-care budget goals. This role plays a critical part in achieving those objectives by overseeing the execution of the agency's sales and marketing strategy. The Director is responsible for building and strengthening relationships with referral sources throughout the communities we serve while driving sustainable agency growth and contributing to the overall success of the organization. Additionally, the Director of Business Development provides leadership and direction to the business development team, while identifying opportunities for partnership and community engagement that support sustainable agency growth and the broader goals of the organization. Recruits, leads, develops, and supervises the agency level Business Development sales team, while establishing performance goals and incentive structures in collaboration with Executive Directors. Ensures accountability for results and actively monitors the growth, performance, and overall health of the sales team across assigned territories. Demonstrates a strong understanding of key drivers of revenue, admissions, and length of stay, and develops strategic sales initiatives to achieve agency growth goals. Plans, directs, and coordinates educational events, health fairs, and community programs to effectively promote home health and hospice service lines. Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with referral sources, patients, families, healthcare professionals, and the community at large to bring a greater understanding of the home health & hospice philosophy and support to all patients that desire our care. Delivers regular sales performance metrics and insights to Executive Directors to support strategic decision-making. Maintains a comprehensive working knowledge of community resources providing in-services and education to the sales team. Understands key drivers of revenue, admissions, and length of stay and designs strategic sales strategies to achieve agency growth goals.
Qualifications
- Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration, or related field preferred. At least three (3) years of experience in healthcare sales preferred. Must have a valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and a safe driving record.
- Preferred Requirements: Master's degree in marketing, Business Administration, or related field preferred. At least three (3) years of experience in healthcare sales preferred. Knowledge of home health or hospice industry preferred. Knowledge of HCHB/EPIC computer and electronic medical records systems (EMR).
