This position oversees content strategy from social media to earned media, and from the College magazine to the digital news site, ensuring a dynamic, consistent, and engaging voice that resonates with audiences across all platforms. This is a Professional Exempt Contractual (PEC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College’s District Board of Trustees.What you will be doing Leads the development, planning, and execution of editorial content across digital platforms, print publications, and media channelsOversees social media messaging and strategy to ensure brand consistency, audience engagement and alignment with institutional goalsLeads the creation and placement of op-eds, thought leadership pieces, and feature stories in local and national media outletsDirects the editorial vision and production of the College magazine, monthly newsletters, and other signature publicationsManages the College’s online news site, including editorial calendar, contributor coordination, and performance analyticsMonitors analytics to execute strategies that grow reach, engagement, and followers across all digital channelsEnsures all visual content—writing, photos, videos, graphics—is consistent, meets quality standards and enhances storytelling impactProvides editorial feedback to writers crafting feature stories, op-eds, and digital articlesCollaborates with videographers to shape narrative flow, tone, and messaging in video contentWorks closely with photographers to ensure visual storytelling aligns with brand standards and evokes emotionPartners with departments and academic leaders to source and amplify impactful stories across multiple platformsConducts regular reviews and evaluations to assess performance and provide constructive feedback for improvementPerforms other duties as assigned What you need to succeed Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution and five (5) years’ experience in marketing or related work experience; or Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution and nine (9) years’ experience in marketing or related work experienceKnowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and proceduresProven expertise in developing and executing cross-platform content strategies that elevate brand storytellingExceptional writing, editing, and narrative development skills across formats—print, digital, video, and photoStrong ability to guide and mentor writers, videographers, and photographers to ensure cohesive and compelling storytellingDeep understanding of digital platforms, audience engagement strategies, and content performance analyticsExperience placing op-eds and thought leadership pieces in high-impact media outletsSkilled in managing editorial calendars, workflows, and multimedia production teamsAbility to translate complex institutional priorities into accessible, inspiring storiesHigh proficiency in visual literacy, upholding quality standards for photography and video used in brand storytellingCollaborative mindset with the ability to work across departments and with senior leadershipDemonstrated dedication to education, equity, and innovation, with a digital-first approach to communicationsProven mentoring and team-building skills, including strong ability to provide clear creative direction and helpful feedbackAbility to meet deadlines and possess extensive experience in leading and managing teams in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work flexible hours that can include weekends and eveningsAbility to travel to various campus locations as neededAbility to work well with students, faculty and staffEssential Position This function/position has been designated as essential.
