Job Description
The Directory of Grocery is responsible for overall management and growth of the assigned region. The region may consist of either a geography and/or specific accounts as determined by the National Director of Retail. This role ensures consistent profitable growth in sales revenues through positive planning deployment and management of a sales team. Identifies objectives strategies and action plans to improve short- and long-term sales and earnings. This role is also accountable for allotted budget maintenance new product placements and promotional activities.Essential FunctionsMaximize existing business with current customers as well as develop new accounts focused on retail center store areas. Introduce customers to new products and marketing campaigns. Develop programs and initiatives to grow sales i.e. ads spiffs demos OIs Bill Backs Scans etc. Conduct ongoing business planning reviewsBuild and manage budgets for all key distributors and end usersWork closely with key distributors to maximize their distribution capabilities as well as manage the overall cost of doing business with these key partnersSearch for new and creative opportunities for FOODMatch to expand existing product lines and gain name recognition in other areas of the retail grocery businessWork closely with the Brand Manager to offer creative ideas to purchase new items and new categoriesWork closely with Marketing to develop and personalize sell sheets specific to Distributors in your regionPartner with the Business Intelligence team to build successful presentationsMaintain expert level of product knowledgeManage maintain and direct the broker network for the region. Conduct regular performance assessments and trainings on new items and updated company objectivesParticipation in regional and national food shows including coordination of deadlines and requirements with food show coordinatorIf applicable manage the success of a Territory Manager and/or Sales Rep. Act as a mentor for direct reportsAssist the Business of Own brands in expanding overall category reach into your key accountsQualifications : Bachelors Degree in business or related field preferred10 years of experience in sales 7 years in managementExisting relationships within the retail grocery category both with end users and distributorsTrack record of success in identifying cultivating and closing dealsProven sales leadership successSkill & Ability RequirementsStrong sales skills and product knowledgeExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsProactive strategic thinkerWillingness to take initiativeCompetitive driven to be the bestDifference MakerAccountable to high standardsPossesses a strong sense of urgency to accomplish goals and objectivesAdditional Information : Travel RequirementsThis role requires moderate travelFOODMatch offers a comprehensive benefits package and competitive compensation based on experience.
