The Director promotes a high-performing and mission-driven workplace culture and oversees the full scope of HR programs including talent acquisition compensation and benefits performance management employee engagement and organizational development. This position partners closely with the executive team to advance workforce planning talent retention compliance and organizational effectiveness across the UM Foundation.Key Responsibilities:Develops and implements HR strategies and initiatives that align with the UM Foundations strategic plan and organizational goalsProvides strategic guidance to executive leadership on organizational structure workforce planning and change managementAnnually reviews and recommends improvements to the UM Foundations HR policies procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance consistency and effectivenessLeads the design implementation and administration of the compensation and benefits programsOversees HR compliance ensuring adherence to state and federal employment laws and regulationsServes as a trusted advisor to management and employees fostering strong communication collaboration and engagement across all levelsIdeal Candidate:Proven experience in senior HR leadership preferably within a nonprofit or higher education environmentStrong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices including FLSA FMLA ADA EEO and related regulationsStrategic thinker with the ability to align HR initiatives to organizational goalsProven ability to manage organizational change and coach leaders through complex situationsBachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related fieldSeven or more years of progressively responsible HR experience including at least three years in a leadership or management roleAccessibility and Equal OpportunityThe University of Montana Foundation is committed to providing access equal opportunity and reasonable accommodation for individuals with disabilities in employment its services programs and activities.
