Director of Nursing Summary: The Director of Nursing oversees the administration of nursing services in accordance with current Federal State and Local standards guidelines and regulations as well as company policies and procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Supports best practices and objectives and participates in revision of these as necessary to ensure the provision of the highest quality of care to all residents. Develops short and long-range planning for nursing function. Ensures that nursing interventions meet each residents personal physical and cognitive needs and maximize his/her self-care capacities identity independence choice and opportunity for social interaction. Participates in admission decisions to ensure resident needs can be met by facility nursing capabilities. Ensures a safe and sanitary environment for residents employees and visitors via oversight of safety and maintenance functions. Responsible for ensuring treatments are administered appropriately by subordinates consults with subordinates to ensure that medications and supplies are stored and controlled properly. There is an adequate stock level of medications medical supplies equipment etc. on-premises at all times. Other tasks as assigned.
