JOB DESCRIPTION

Director of Nursing (DON)

Maplewood Rehab and Nursing, a cozy 86 bed premier healthcare provider in Amesbury, MA, is seeking an exceptional Director of Nursing to join our team. As a Director of Nursing, you will play a crucial role in leading our nursing staff to deliver high-quality patient care and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

DON Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership to the nursing department, including developing policies, procedures, and staffing plans to ensure effective delivery of patient care

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the nursing department, including scheduling, budgeting, and staff development

  • Collaborate with the medical and administrative teams to develop and implement clinical programs and services

  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and accrediting bodies, including but not limited to Joint Commission and CMS

  • Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and other stakeholders to ensure optimal patient outcomes

  • Participate in budget planning and management to ensure financial stability and growth

DON Requirements:

  • Experience in a Director of Nursing role or equivalent leadership experience in Nursing or a related field

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Massachusetts

  • Possess strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks

Minimum Requirements (Must Have):

  • Experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF)

  • Prior role as ADON, Unit Manager, or similar nursing leadership in LTC

  • Familiarity with state surveys and CMS regulations
