Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDirector of Operations – ClinicLocation: Portland, ME, with occasional travel to Windham and Brunswick, MEReports to: SVP, OperationsStatus: Full-time, ExemptAbout the RoleWe’re looking for a dynamic Director of Operations to lead the day-to-day operations of our ambulatory clinic practices, including satellite locations. This is an exciting opportunity for a collaborative and strategic leader who is passionate about operational excellence and exceptional patient care.As the Director of Operations, you’ll oversee workflow, staffing, and financial performance across multiple clinical areas—ensuring every patient receives efficient, effective, and compassionate care. You’ll work closely with executive and physician leadership to shape strategy, improve processes, and drive continuous quality improvement.What You’ll DoLead and coordinate all aspects of clinical operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.Provide strong leadership and support to Clinic Managers, Patient Access, Radiology, and DME teams.Foster a culture of service excellence, teamwork, and accountability.Partner with physicians and staff to enhance patient satisfaction and streamline operations.Oversee staffing models and scheduling to meet patient care needs and optimize resources.Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and all regulatory requirements.Lead recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and professional development of staff.Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic planning, budgeting, and performance improvement.Promote open communication, trust, and collaboration across teams.Champion initiatives that improve safety, efficiency, and overall patient experience.What We’re Looking ForEducation: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.Experience: 3–5 years of leadership experience in an ambulatory clinic setting required; experience in surgical specialties preferred.Credentials: RN strongly preferred but not required.Demonstrated success in managing operations, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams.Strong understanding of clinical workflows, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.Proven ability to lead through change with empathy, confidence, and professionalism.Proficiency in EMR systems and general office software.Why Join UsAt OA, you’ll be part of a respected organization that values innovation, collaboration, and compassionate care.We offer:Competitive compensation and benefits packageOpportunities for professional growth and developmentA supportive leadership team and a positive, mission-driven cultureReady to lead with purpose?Apply today and help us continue delivering exceptional care and operational excellence every day.
