Title: Director of SafetyLocation: Raleigh N.C. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors Degree in Safety Management Construction or a related fieldCertified Safety Professional (CPS) or C-Mesh (Construction Manager of Environmental Safety & Health) certification recommended.7 years of experience working in safety or risk management centered in Wireless/Wireline Telecommunication or ConstructionThorough Knowledge of OSHA regulations. OSHA Certification requiredThorough knowledge of ANSI/TIA-322 ANSI/ASSE A10.48 and other applicable telecommunication standardsComprehensive knowledge in areas such as Fall management LOTO arc flash PPE troubleshooting high voltage confined space hot work permitting trenching excavation underground boring scaffolding craning hoisting rigging mobile equipment and emergency action plans.Preferred Certifications:OSHA 500 & 510Tower Climber & Rescue InstructorCPR/First Aid Instructor TrainingRF TrainingExcavation Safety and Confined Space Instructor TrainingCompetent Rigger TrainingCertified Safety Professional (CSP) Certified Safety Manager (CSM) or equivalentSupervisory Responsibilities:This position has supervisory responsibilities.Essential Functions:Reside as the subject matter expert in occupational health and safetyPlans manages implements and maintains comprehensive Environmental Health & Safety Programs on premise and/or site locationsManage overall safety approach for the company including managing a team of 6-10 employeesWork with Executive Team to evaluate and develop system updates and tools to improve safety management practices across the companyDrive high level initiatives for internal company certification complianceOversee scheduling and reporting on internal safety auditing process across all service linesOversee all company training requirements and associated scheduling across all business units with the assistance of Executive TeamReview companys subcontractor occupational safety policies guidelines and standards to determine their consistency with accepted principles and practices and recommend technical changes as neededDirectly responsible for developing monthly and quarterly safety and compliance reportingIn conjunction with TEP qualification team work to review and approve safety metrics for subcontractors as a part of the vendor onboarding processManage all third party safety auditing platforms such as Avetta ISNetworld etc.Measure effectiveness of controls implemented to correct unsafe conditions and recommend changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate workplace accidents and injuriesProvide advice and counsel to ensure compliance with local state and federal programs such as OSHAReview all incident investigation reports along with supporting documents analyze and interpret accident or incident reports and review recommendations for corrective action to eliminate unsafe conditions and assist in their implementationManage workers compensation auto and general liability claims by entering claims updating files and tracking progressDevelop safety and training policies and programs procedures and manuals as neededReview all MVR checks to ensure compliance with company and insurance policy requirementsComplete OSHA regulated training reportsInvestigate accidents to identify causes or to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the futureOther Duties as assignedPhysical Demands:While performing the duties of the job the employee is frequently required to stand walk sit use hands to finger handle or feel and talk or her climb stairs and/or ladders. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Some filing is required.
