Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary: School OverviewJefferson RISE Charter School, founded by seven community members in 2014, will serve just under 800 students in grades 6-12 for the 2025-2026 school year. Located in Harvey, Louisiana, the school caters to a diverse student body from the Westbank of Jefferson Parish, consisting of 59% Black/African American, 24% White, 15% Hispanic, and 2% Asian students, with 87% qualifying as economically disadvantaged.Remarkable achievements for Jefferson RISE Charter School include:State recognized our school as Top Gains Badge Recipient (23-24 SY)Graduation Rate A (22-23 SY, 23-24 SY)Strength of Diploma A (23-24 SY)Progress Rating A (23-24 SY)#6 for SPS Growth in Louisiana (22-23 SY)Achieved a School Performance Score (SPS) increase of over 17 points, resulting in a B rating for the high school and a C rating for the middle school (22-23 SY)Position OverviewThe Lead Student Supports Teacher plays a central role in ensuring that all students, especially those requiring additional academic, behavioral, or social-emotional support, thrive in a rigorous and inclusive school environment. This role combines direct instructional responsibilities with leadership in designing, coordinating, and monitoring interventions across grade levels. The Lead Student Supports Teacher partners closely with general education teachers, interventionists, and school leadership to analyze data, implement best practices, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies. The ideal candidate is a skilled educator with strong data analysis abilities, excellent communication skills, and a passion for equity and student success.Key ResponsibilitiesInstructional Support & InterventionProvide targeted academic and/or behavioral interventions to students individually or in small groups.Model high-quality instructional strategies for colleagues and support implementation across classrooms.Collaborate with teachers to adapt Tier 1 lessons and ensure accessibility for diverse learners.Data & Progress MonitoringCollect and analyze academic, behavioral, and attendance data to identify students in need of support.Develop and maintain progress monitoring systems to track student outcomes.Create data dashboards, graphs, and reports that inform instructional decisions and intervention planning.Collaboration & CoachingPartner with general education teachers to co-plan lessons, differentiate instruction, and address student needs.Provide coaching and professional development to staff on intervention strategies, classroom management, and accommodations.Serve as a bridge between instructional staff and school leadership to ensure supports are aligned and effective.Compliance & DocumentationEnsure accurate and timely documentation of interventions, accommodations, and student progress.Support compliance with IEPs, 504s, RTI/MTSS requirements, and other regulatory obligations.Communicate with families about student progress, interventions, and strategies for at-home support.LeadershipLead student support meetings and intervention team discussions.Support the design and implementation of schoolwide systems for student behavior, SEL, and academic supports.Serve as a key member of the instructional leadership team, contributing to decision-making and strategic planning.Culture and FitBelieves deeply in the mission and students of Jefferson RISE.Passionate about inclusive education and equity for all students.Eager to learn, grow, and improve their craft.Open to feedback and committed to continuous improvement.Acts with integrity, flexibility, and puts students first.QualificationsBachelors degree in education or related field required; masters degree preferred.Valid teaching certification; special education certification strongly preferred.Minimum of 3 years teaching experience, with demonstrated success in supporting diverse learners.Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to create actionable insights from student performance data.Knowledge of MTSS/RTI frameworks, special education law, and best practices in interventions.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to coach and influence peers.Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic school environment.Deep belief in equity and the potential of every student to succeed.BENEFITSRISE employees are paid twice a month on the 15th and last day of each month.Jefferson RISE pays the following employee-only benefit costs for all full-time employees: coverage 85% of medical premiums and 100% of dental, vision, short and long term disability premiums. The Employee covers the remaining costs, including 15% employee medical and all spouse/dependent costs. RISE provides a 401(k) retirement plan to all W-2 employees, including a match of up to 100% of contributions on the first 3% deferred, then 50% of contributions from 3% to 5%. There is no vesting period. Jefferson RISE reserves the right to offer different or additional benefits to the Employee at any time.
