Job Details Experienced Bresnahan - Newburyport MA Part Time DayDescription Position/Title:Youth Leader K-3 After-school ProgramJob Classification: Part time non-exemptWork Hours: Monday Friday 2 pm 6 pm (days are flexible with more hours available)Supervisor: School-aged Childcare CoordinatorAbout YWCA Greater Newburyport:As one of the oldest non-profit community organizations in the area the YWCA Greater Newburyport has been providing safe affordable and supportive childcare and youth development housing and wellness opportunities.About the role:Do you love playing with kids and want a role where you can truly make a difference Do you love to be active and thrive when you can showcase your own personal passions If you have experience working with groups of school-aged children and want to join a team that is bringing the fun each afternoon then this may be the opportunity for you!As part of our dynamic team at the after-school program you will have the opportunity to create and lead all kinds of fun activities. Our program has an amazing space with a full-sized gymnasium for group games as well as an abundance of outdoor spaces that include playgrounds and open spaces with fields for sports and hills for sledding. We also have a bright open cafeteria and a lot of amazing toys and supplies to work with. We are looking for people who can imagine all the engaging experiences that can be created with all that we have to offer. To be successful in this role you must have strong decision-making skills and be able to judge appropriately in response to questions and behaviors exhibited by children in Kindergarten through Grade 3. You need to understand the importance of a warm caring atmosphere and can confidently create a careful balance between reliable security and stimulation that fosters exploration and growth.
