JOB DESCRIPTION
Overview
Position Summary... Walmart Marketing is seeking a performance-driven Director of Product Marketing (Growth Marketing), supporting Walmart Business, to own and accelerate customer acquisition and retention across owned and earned digital channels. You will lead a high-performing team responsible for Affiliate Marketing, SEO, Answer Engine Optimization / Generative Engine Optimization (AEO/GEO), CRM & Lifecycle, and App Push Notifications — while maintaining holistic accountability for overall traffic and acquisition funnel health. This role demands an analytical mindset, deep ecommerce fluency, executive presence, and an unwavering commitment to AI-first ways of working.
Key Responsibilities
- Channel Ownership & Growth: Own strategy, execution, and performance of Affiliate Marketing, SEO, AEO/GEO, CRM & Email, and App Push Notification programs.
- Drive measurable growth in traffic, new customer acquisition, and retention metrics across managed channels.
- Lead the evolution of SEO into AI-driven search (AEO/GEO) — ensuring Walmart Business content surfaces prominently in AI-generated answers and generative search experiences.
- Build and optimize CRM journeys and segmentation strategies that convert, retain, and expand buyer relationships.
- Develop and scale push notification programs for the Walmart Business app that drive meaningful re-engagement and purchase frequency.
- Traffic & Acquisition Health: Own overall traffic and acquisition health reporting, in collaboration with Analytics — diagnosing anomalies, surfacing root causes, and directing corrective action.
- Establish a rigorous daily-cadence metric monitoring culture; ensure issues are identified and escalated within appropriate time.
- Provide accurate, channel-level inputs to business forecasting and planning cycles.
- Partner with Finance and Analytics to build dashboards and attribution models that give a trustworthy view of acquisition economics.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Site, Merchandising, to align growth with business priorities.
- Build influence and drive alignment across a highly matrixed organization.
Team Leadership & Innovation
- Recruit, develop, and retain a world-class growth marketing team; set clear goals and create an environment where high performance thrives.
- Champion an AI-first culture — embedding AI tools and automation into workflows, content, testing, and reporting to amplify team output.
- Drive a test-and-learn agenda; institutionalize rapid experimentation and scale winning programs.
- Lead through change with clarity and decisiveness — serving as a steady anchor during market or organizational volatility.
Executive Communication
- Present performance, strategy, and recommendations to senior executives with clarity, brevity, and confidence.
- Translate complex data and channel dynamics into actionable narratives that drive prioritization decisions.
- Proactively surface issues and opportunities — never letting executives be surprised.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, or a related field required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: 12+ years of progressive digital/growth marketing experience, with at least 3-4 years in a leadership role managing multi-disciplinary teams.
- Ecommerce Fluency: Deep ecommerce experience — comfortable living on daily metrics, understanding conversion funnels end-to-end, and operating at the rapid pace of online retail.
- Channel Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in two or more of: SEO/AEO/GEO, Affiliate, CRM/Email, or App Push Notifications — with measurable results to show for it.
- Analytical Rigor: Expert ability to diagnose traffic and acquisition anomalies, build business cases from data, and translate metrics into strategic recommendations.
- Forecasting: Experience providing channel-level inputs to revenue forecasts and annual planning cycles.
- Media Collaboration: Proven track record of partnering with paid media teams (SEM, Display, Paid Social) to drive full-funnel acquisition strategies.
- Executive Presence: Comfortable presenting to C-suite and senior VP audiences; able to distill complexity into clear, compelling narratives under pressure.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Experience thriving in matrixed environments, aligning stakeholders across Product, Finance, Sales, and Category Management.
- AI-First Mindset: Active user of AI tools; able to champion AI adoption within a team and redesign workflows around it.

- Experience with eCommerce Affiliate program, B2B affiliates, Impact platform.
- Experience with multi-brand or omnichannel retail ecosystems.
- Proficiency in enterprise analytics tools (Looker, GA4, Tableau).
- Proficiency in forecasting spend and traffic.
- Prior experience at a top-tier retailer, marketplace, or high-growth brand.
