Director, Sales & Operations Planning at ALSO

ALSO No longer available

Job Description

Overview

About ALSO.

We're ALSO, an electric mobility company originally conceived as a part of Rivian. We're a passionate team of builders, dreamers, doers and innovators, focused on creating entirely new (not to mention, innovative and delightful) vertically integrated, small EVs designed to meet the global mobility challenges of today and tomorrow. Our mission is to inspire everyone to ride ALSO-replacing many local car, truck and SUV miles with ones on vehicles that are more affordable, more enjoyable and 10-50x more efficient.

We're looking for a Director, Sales & Operations Planning to build the forecasting, launch planning, and cross-functional alignment engine that will guide major operational decision-making at Also. The Director, Sales & Operations Planning leader will own how we plan and executive on volumes and variants, channel distribution, new product introduction efforts, and market rollouts, partnering closely with Product, Supply Chain, Commercial, and Finance to ensure the right products reach the right customers at the right time. This is the connective tissue between product roadmap, commercial strategy, and operations execution - ensuring the company moves coherently and confidently as we scale from one product to many, and from one market to the world.

What You Will Do

  • Create and own the company's integrated planning model, incorporating factors like volume, SKU mix, channel mix, pricing, geography, and product sequencing. You will be the central point of truth for "what are we planning to sell, where, when, in what quantities, and at what price?"

  • Align inventory, lead times, and serviceability with commercial strategy.

  • Build scenario models around pricing, elasticity, channel mix, and regional expansion, incorporate market intelligence, competitor insights, and past performance to refine forecasts.

  • Build and operate a planning calendar that aligns Product, Supply Chain, Commercial, and Finance efforts to a single company plan.

  • With the rest of the Commercial org, maintain the demand forecasts for all products across consumer, retail, and B2B/Fleet channels.

What You Will Bring

  • 8+ years in hardware operations planning, supply/demand planning, product planning, S&OP, commercial planning, or similar roles.

  • Experience with technical tools and languages such as SQL, Databricks, Tableau, Looker. AI-driven analytics experience is a huge plus

  • Experience planning across multiple channels (DTC, retail, B2B) and multiple markets.

  • Strong grasp of consumer hardware or automotive-like ramp dynamics: NPI, production ramps, lead times, forecasting under uncertainty.

  • Demonstrated ability to run cross-functional programs between Product, Supply Chain, and Commercial.

  • Analytical depth with the ability to structure ambiguity and bring clarity to decisions.

  • Excellent communication and a calm, structured approach to complex problems.

The salary for this position ranges from$190,000 - $270,000 depending on experience, location, and qualifications.
