Job Title: Director Solution and Process GovernanceReports to: Sr Manager - Digital Strategy & Cust Exp Reports in office to Boston MAThe base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location ranging from: $167428.-$209286Job SummaryThe Director Solution and Process Governance is a key member of Avangrids Customer Experience and Digital Transformation team responsible for ensuring alignment between business processes and enabling technologies across the enterprise. This role leads efforts to harmonize solutions and governance frameworks across multiple jurisdictions driving scalability compliance and strategic consistency. Acting as a central point of coordination the Director fosters cross-functional collaboration to support enterprise wide digital and operational transformation. The position ensures that governance practices align with business objectives regulatory requirements and customer needs enabling unified and optimized processes. This is a high-impact leadership role within a global energy leader offering the opportunity to influence operational excellence and digital innovation at scale.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and Lead Governance StrategyResponsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive governance framework that aligns business processes and enabling technologies across Avangrids operating companies.Oversee Process and Solution AlignmentAccountable for driving harmonization of business processes and technology platforms across jurisdictions to ensure operational efficiency scalability and compliance.Align Governance Roadmaps with Business GoalsTasked with translating corporate objectives into actionable governance roadmaps and ensuring alignment across business units and technology teams.Manage and Mentor Governance TeamsLeads cross-functional governance working groups providing strategic direction coaching and support to enable effective collaboration and execution.Foster Cross-Functional CollaborationWorks closely with IT Operations Regulatory Legal and Customer Experience teams to ensure unified governance and seamless integration of processes and technologies.Champion Standardization and OptimizationPromotes adoption of standardized processes and platforms that support scalability interoperability and regulatory compliance.Drive Agile Governance PracticesImplements Agile principles within governance activities to encourage iterative improvement transparency and responsiveness across teams.Monitor Governance EffectivenessEvaluates governance performance using KPIs audit results and stakeholder feedback and initiates continuous improvement actions.Manage Stakeholder ExpectationsServes as the primary liaison between executive leadership and operational teams providing regular updates and ensuring alignment across entities.Ensure Financial StewardshipManage governance-related budgets and resources effectively ensuring investments deliver strong ROI and strategic value across Avangrid operating companies.Required QualificationsEducation & Experience Required:Bachelors degree in Business Digital Technology or related field10 years of experience in process governance or digital transformation Minimum of 3 years of experience in a regulated utility preferredStrong understanding of governance frameworks process standardization and cross-functional alignment in complex or regulated environmentsSkills/AbilitiesLeadership & Strategic ThinkingDemonstrated ability to set enterprise-wide governance vision lead cross-functional teams drive change management and communicate effectively with executive stakeholders in complex environments.Process & Solution GovernanceExpertise in business process management governance frameworks enterprise architecture and technology alignment including process mapping optimization and standardization.Customer-Centric Operational AlignmentStrong capability to design governance models that integrate regulatory requirements and customer needs ensuring compliance and enhanced customer experience.Analytical & Financial AcumenProficient in data-driven decision-making performance analysis ROI evaluation and budget management for governance initiatives.Communication & InfluenceExceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex governance concepts to executive audiences and influence decisions across the organization.Regulatory & Industry AwarenessComprehensive understanding of utility sector regulations compliance requirements and emerging trends in energy and digital transformation.Vendor & Partner ManagementExperienced in managing third-party vendors and technology partners including RFP development contract negotiation and performance oversight.Innovation & Market AwarenessKnowledgeable in emerging technologies (IoT AI smart grid) and global governance trends with the ability to identify and implement innovative practices that enhance agility and operational excellence.Preferred QualificationsMBA or related advanced degreeExperience working in a global company or matrix reporting
