Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:This position is responsible for the health, welfare, and movement of livestock by performing the listed duties. The right person has better than average horsemanship and stockman ship skills with experience moving cattle using low stress handling techniques. Must have three well broke horses. BNW will provide hay, vaccinations, and shoeing for up to four horses. Pasture Rider reports to the Assistant Yard Manager. Job Duties:Ride pastures per daily schedule inspecting cattle, identifying sickness and injuriesAccurately record all sick 'pulled' cattle removed from pens on pull slipAccurately record pens ridden on cowboy pen map daily Drive cattle safely through pens/pastures as directedAssist in sorting fat cattle as needed and directedAssist in loading and unloading cattle trucks as per scheduleFurnish their own tack and at least 3 well broke horsesFeed & care for those horsesAssist in processing cattle as directedAssist in doctoring cattle as requiredClean water tanks as neededMaintain yard housekeeping standardsOther tasks or duties as required by supervisorRequirements:Must have good horsemanship skillsMust have full knowledge of cattle handling skillsHorse & cattle background is essentialExcellent safety skills and awareness neededMust be a team playerBenefits:Competitive wagesPen Rider performance incentiveHorse incentiveHealth, Dental & Vision Insurance401k matchPaid time off
