EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITYTown of Lexington We are currently accepting applications for the full-time position of: Public Safety DispatcherPolice Department 1 Dayshift 7:00am - 3:00pm (Starting Wage: $26.94 - $30.00 per hour)1 Nightshift 11:00pm- 7:00am (Starting Wage: $28.55 - $31.80 per hour) Excellent benefits package The Town of Lexington Police Department currently has an opening for a Public SafetyDispatcher in our 24-hour combined Police/Fire computer-aided dispatch center. Applicantsshould possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact withthe public, primarily through telephone response to complaints and requests for service. Priorexperience working with emergency services and radio, telephone and computer networks ispreferred. Duties include but are not limited to: * Dispatching police, fire and ambulance personnel; providing field personnel with relevantand timely information; and keeping up-to-date with dispatching reference material andcomputer data bases.* Candidates with Mass State 911 Certifications will be given preference.* If approved, Qualified Dispatch personnel may also participate as members of the PoliceDepartment's Civilian Detail Traffic Unit. Comprehensive background check, including CORI screen and a psychological and physicalexam with drug screen, are conditions of employment.
